Why We Built an AI Track Into a Construction Conference

Most construction, accounting, and consulting firms are already experimenting with AI in some form, a tool here, a chatbot there, but few have an actual plan on how to use it well. Beyond the Blueprint’s AI Track brings together four practitioners already working at the intersection of AI and construction to help you turn early experimentation into a real, usable strategy.

FRAUD & RISK

Construction Fraud Trends: How Evolving Technology Is Changing the Landscape

Melissa breaks down how emerging technology, AI included, is reshaping the construction fraud landscape, and what your team should be watching for as both the schemes and detection tools evolve.

FIELD STRATEGY

AI Is a Multiplier. What Are You Multiplying?

Tyler shows how to find the gaps between process and technology on real project teams, put a dollar figure on them, and decide what’s worth building versus what AI should actually handle.

AUDIT & PAYMENT REVIEW

Transforming Construction Payment Reviews with Intelligent Audit Technology

Ruhtab examines how construction auditors can apply intelligent audit technology to payment applications and supporting documentation, catching billing inconsistencies earlier with far broader coverage than manual sampling.

HANDS-ON WORKSHOP

Beyond the Chatbot: A Practical Roadmap for Enterprise AI in Construction

A 2-hour, fully interactive workshop. Attendees apply frameworks to real projects in small groups and leave with actionable ideas for their own teams and clients, plus a look at what enterprise AI might mean for contractors by 2028.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY

When the System Doesn’t Fit the Work:  How configurability, connected data and AI are changing the construction technology equation.

Nicholas will discuss why critical work still happens outside your project management system, and what configurability, connected data, and embedded AI mean for closing that gap.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an AI or technical background to attend the AI Track?

No. These sessions are built for construction, audit, and professional services teams already using or considering AI, not for developers or data scientists.

What should I bring to Hugh Seaton's hands-on workshop?

Just a laptop if you want to participate. The session is built around live, small-group exercises, so no advance preparation is required.

Does the AI Track count toward CPE credit?

Yes. The AI sessions are part of Beyond the Blueprint’s full CPE-eligible program, up to 16 credit hours across the two-day conference.

How is this different from other AI training for construction professionals?

Most AI training is generic or theoretical. The AI Track is built specifically for construction workflows, led by practitioners (not AI vendors), with one session structured as a 2-hour hands-on workshop rather than a lecture.
